This video is intended to show a simplified version of The Eduverse Foundation’s Picnic08 proposal. It is comprises essentially 4 areas:
1. An Expert Interactive Area - for consultations with specialists in diverse fields of education, virtual environments and science (Example: experts in Second Life science will be able to demonstrate the value of virtual models) . Minimum requirements: 3-5 laptops, table, chairs and internet connection.
2. Real World Interactive Exhibition - where companies can demo hands on tools which can be used to aid virtual education. (Examples: HUDs/visors, touch tables, trackers, virtual manipulators, etc.)
3. A Presentation Area - where symposia can be held (including both real world and virtual speakers - see previous symposia for examples). Minimum requirements: 2 laptops, 2 beamers, chairs and a technician.
4. Real Life Interaction Area - to control real world objects from Second Life and to control Second Life objects from the real world (Examples: remote robotic control, midi interface which controls objects in SL) . Minimum requirements: 3-5 laptops, table, chairs and internet connection.
Extras: a help desk at the entrance, a command/info centre for an educational game which will take place throughout Picnic and on the net, documentation on virtual education, Eduverse Foundation Promotion, etc.
